Public transport in Vienna
Vienna has an comprehensive public transport system. Metros, trams and buses will take you wherever you need to go. The metro (u-bahn) has five lines which extend throughout the entire city. It's the quickest and easiest way of getting from A to B.
If you want to see something of the city, you can also take a bus or tram. There's a very pretty tram route that runs along the Ringstrasse, the boulevard around the historical city centre. It takes you past many magnificent buildings and parks.
If you intend using public transport frequently over a couple of days, it's worth buying a Vienna Card. This card entitles you to unlimited use of the metro, tram and bus for just EUR 16.90!

Taxis in Vienna
Vienna's taxis are extremely reliable and problems rarely arise. Various taxi ranks are located throughout the city but you can also order one. The majority of taxis prefer picking up passengers from taxi ranks or via a booking.

Cycling in Vienna
As in many other big European cities, you can rent a bike in Vienna to explore the city. City Bikes can be rented at electronic bike stations throughout the city. You can register here using your credit card or you can order a City Bike Card via the website before you travel. The card will be sent to your home within three weeks. The first hour is free with prices rising progressively from then on: EUR 1 for the second hour, EUR 2 for the third hour and EUR 4 for the fourth and any subsequent hours.
