Events
A city has more to offer than just museums and buildings. Experience a city differently, join the residents during a typical city event!
La nuit des Musees
Museums in Paris stay open all night on 17 May. You can visit almost all the city's museums for free until 1 a.m! Museum night was introduced by the French department of culture in 2005 in collaboration with various other European countries. The original idea was to stimulate greater cultural debate. Many museums devise a special programme for museum night in order to attract greater numbers of visitors. Tip: make a plan of the museums you want to visit during your late-night trip. The website below lists all the participating museums.

International Photographic Flea Market
The International Photographic Flea Market brings together amateur and professional photographers for a weekend of exhibitions! The market is held in Bievres, a town just south of Paris, and celebrates its 45th anniversary this year. Two big events take place during the weekend. The first is an exhibition of photographs taken by professional and amateur photographers. The second is a second-hand market on Sunday, where you can buy everything that has anything to do with photography! And, naturally, there's a jury to award prizes for the best photographs.

Arenes de Montmartre Festival
The Arenes de Montmartre Festival was adopted from an Italian tradition. Italian travelling theatres visit Montmartre's Arenes for a wonderful three-week long festival. The illustrious Mystere Bouffe Theatre Company leads the group of stage and street artists, who give stunning performances on stage and in the streets. All forms of theatre are practised here. Comedy, people's theatre, music and poetry are just some examples that come to mind. The festival is designed for a heterogeneous public: Parisians, the French and, of course, tourists. The full programme can be found on the website below!
