You'll find a bunch of restaurants, cafes and âbrasseriesâ in every city. Below is a selection of nice venues where you can enjoy local food and/or culinary delights.
Pret a Manger
The British sandwich store chain Pret a Manger started off in 1986. In the meantime there are more than hundred branches in London where you can get the best sandwiches. Sketch
When you walk into this former town hall, you won't believe your eyes! There are various areas where you can dine. Will your preference go to the white decor with pink neon lights, or to dining in a gallery? The interior is sublime! Take, for example, the stylish egg-shaped loos. The excellent menu is based on French cuisine. As a result of all this, Sketch is a very busy restaurant indeed, albeit it one with a hefty price tag. If you're not interested in dinner, it's also a perfect venue for lunch.

Sweetings
A blue façade invites you to enter this traditional British fish restaurant. Tradition is considered to be of paramount importance at Sweetings, already since 1830. Here they only use fresh and seasonable products. The restaurant is only open during lunch and is then a much frequented place. There are no reservations possible and at noon all seats are quickly taken. Killing time while waiting - like most other visitors - can be done with a pint of Guinness. All is well worth waiting, and once seated, you should order their speciality: 'Colchester oysters'.
