The museum was founded by the Medici family and bequeathed to Florence on the express condition that the works of art should never leave the city. Boboli Gardens

Boboli Gardens

The Boboli Gardens form a huge park that you can easily spend an entire day in. Neat geometric buxus hedges contrast strikingly with wilder ilex hedges. During your stroll through the park, you'll come across sculptures, statues, fountains and ornamental ponds, one as beautiful as the other. You can also visit the Grotta Grande (Big Grotto) or the Amphitheatre. After your stroll, enjoy a coffee at the gardens' coffeeshop. The terrace offers a wonderful view across Florence. A visit to the Boboli Gardens is both a botanical and an artistic pleasure! [Read more]
