Public transport: general

Budapest has a well-organized and extensive public transport network. The metro, bus and tram run from 04.30 a.m. until 23.15 p.m. If you buy a Budapest Card (credit card size) you can make use of public transport and get free or discounted entrance to the majority of museums and a large number of other attractions. The card is valid for 48 or 72 hours and can be purchased from Toerinform, hotels, information desks and one or two other points that bear the card's logo. Children under the age of five don't need a ticket to travel by public transport as long as they're accompanied by an adult. [Read more]
