Grote Markt
Bombardment by the French in 1695 destroyed the Grote Markt, and only City Hall was left standing. Reconstruction started immediately and the result is now one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Although each facade is different, the overall effect is one of complete harmony. The square is surrounded by the high Gothic City Hall, the late Gothic Broodhuis and the guildhalls with their beautifully decorated and guilded Flemish baroque style facades. One of the guildhalls, the Brouwershuis, is now the site of a brewery museum. Another, the Broodhuis, houses the Stedelijk Museum.

Jubelpark Museum
A remarkable trip around the world. You'll find the Jubelpark Museum, one of the Royal Museums of Art and History, at the heart of the Jubelpark. The museum has over 650,000 pieces which form the foundation for a trip through time and space and along various artistic disciplines. It offers the visitor a exceptionally rich and varied overview of history. The Antiquity collection evokes the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome. Entrance to the museum is free every first Wednesday of the month from 13.00 p.m.

Horta Museum
The former home and studio of the famous Belgian architect Victor Horta is now a museum. Victor Horta is considered by many to be the founder of Art Nouveau and his house is a clear reflection of his unique style. The entire house is open to viewing. You'll come across Horta's designs throughout Brussels. Among other things he designed the Paleis voor Schone Kunsten (Brussels Centre for Fine Arts) and the Belgisch Centrum van het Beeldverhaal (Comic Strip Museum).
