Taxis in Bruges
Even though Bruges has an excellent public transport system, there may still be occasions when you need a taxi. The Flemish city has two taxi ranks. One at the big market, and the other near Central Station. It's also possible to order a taxi through the taxi cooperative. You'll find the telephone number below. Taxis charge a standard rate which varies according to the time of day. On top of this, you also pay a standard 'run in' charge of EUR 2.60.

Public transport in Bruges
Bruges has an excellent public transport system. The station lies within walking distance of the historic centre and the shopping streets. A bus departs from the station to the centre on average every two minutes. During the morning and evening rushes, that frequency increases to one every minute. The best way to get to your destination at night is by bus. Bus departures continue until 23.10 p.m. during the week, and 2.10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. It's cheaper to buy a ticket in advance rather than on the bus.

Bruges is an ideal city for cycling. The majority of streets are one-way, but cyclists are exempted from this. A bike is therefore the best way of exploring Bruges and its surroundings.
