Bruges Brouwerij-Mouterijmuseum (Brewery-Malthouse Museum)
This museum will tell you everything you need to know about how to brew beer. It also describes the history of breweries in Bruges. As you stroll through the museum, you'll come across objects and documents which narrate the history of Bruges and its breweries. Until WWI, there were 31 breweries in Bruges. One of these, the Gouden Boom (Golden Tree), stands beside the museum. This brewery was founded in 1584 and produces the 'Brugs Tarwebier', a white beer. You'll definitely be able to get a good beer here!

The Gruuthuse Museum
This former city palace near the Dijver now houses an extensive collection of applied arts. The objects on display include weapons, carpets, porcelain, medical instruments and wooden carvings. In the 15th century the house belonged to a merchant (the master of the Gruuthuse). He alone was entitled to levy taxes on the gruut, a mixture of imported spices used to brew beer. Aside from the collection, this Medieval house is, in itself, worth a visit. Its beautiful antique fireplaces and wooden beams have been carefully preserved, and so too has the authentic 1472 oak-panelled kitchen.

Groeninge Museum
The Groeninge Museum is the city museum of fine arts in Bruges. This museum offers an extensive overview of the history of Belgian fine arts. The pride of this museum is a splendid and very valuable collection of Flemish Masters, which is displayed in fifteen rooms. This collection includes works by Hugo van der Goes, Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling and Pieter Brueghel. Recommended for art-lovers!
