If you've had your fill of Amsterdam's Kalverstraat and Nieuwedijk and you're looking for something new, then head to the Haarlemmerstraat. This street is located in the Jordaan and has lots of nice (clothing) boutiques, small shops and restaurants. You won't find any big chain stores here. The street is not nearly as busy as the centre so you can shop at leisure. The Haarlemmerstraat continues on into the Haarlemmerdijk where you'll find even more nice shops.
