Amsterdam Marathon
The Amsterdam Marathon takes place in October every year and has been going since 1975. In those days the Marathon started from the Olympic Stadium and, after a number of years during which the Dam and the Museumplein had this honour, it has now reverted to the Stadium. The route is known for its flatness and historical character, passing many of Amsterdam's beautiful spots. There are three distances: 7.5, 21 and 42 kilometres. Some participants are sponsored and run for charity, while others take part in the company relay marathon, where six colleagues cover the route together.

Two types of Parade exist, namely the winter parade and the summer parade. Amsterdam is the most extensive Parade of them all. That's why it's also 'the' place for new young talent to experiment. Consult the website below for the exact dates of the performances.
